Eli Ellis Commits to South Carolina

Lamont Paris and South Carolina have landed one of the premier guards in the country and HoopSeen's top 2025 prospect for North Carolina. Eli Ellis made the announcement tonight on Instagram and X. The 6-foot-1 2025 guard out of Moravian Prep in Hudson, North Carolina played this past travel season with Team Loaded North Carolina and Ellis brings a show with him no matter who or where he plays. This is a huge pick-up for South Carolina and with Ellis being in the SEC on a nightly basis, it's going to be a lot of fun to watch so bring your popcorn.

"When we look back on the 2023 Carolina Jam, we’ll always start with the play of Eli Ellis on a Saturday afternoon against Team United. Ellis was outstanding. He poured it in to the tune of 21 straight points. He was in a fun zone in a game that drew nearly all of the eyeballs of the hoop heads of the Hoop State. Ellis knocked down big threes. He scored big baskets on big drives. He passed the rock to shooters and controlled the pace throughout. What may have gotten overlooked in his big shot-making Saturday was his competitive leadership and his team’s terrific defense from start to finish. Sometimes it is hard to live up to the hype time and time again. It is even hard to put a win behind the play. Ellis did both. And that left everyone talking."  - Justin Young

"Eli Ellis is always one of the shows wherever he goes, and he brought that to Virginia Beach for the Grassroots Finale. We’ve seen him do spectacular things this year, and he did even more of that while not being at his most dominant. Ellis is a machine in his ability to put points on the board whether that means going on a personal scoring run or setting up his teammates for open looks. Ellis is such a skilled scorer from all levels, and he has incredible vision and feel as a passer. Ellis’ IQ for the game can be seen across the board, which means on defense as well. He always seems to be in the right place at the right time." - Josh Tec
