CTX Knights 2024 Premier claim 17U Platinum 2 Grassroots Basketball Finale

By Zack Cepress

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA - CTX Knights 2024 Premier beat Garner Road- Thornton 62-53 to claim the 17u Platinum 2 championship at the Grassroots Basketball Finale on Sunday afternoon.

Robert Conrad led the way with 15 points for the CTX Knights on the big stage. Conrad is a quick crafty guard who gets to the rim easily. He had help from Trent Medearis and Sam McKinney who both had 14 points. McKinney had 2 huge slams and protected the paint really well. Medearis knocked down 2 threes and was another quick guard who had a high IQ for the game.

For Garner Road- Thornton, Kaleb Spender scored a team-high 13 points.  Victor Alao and Anthony Waters both added 11 points.

Two high intensity teams going at it for the championship is all you can ask for. These two teams were going basket for basket for most of the game but CTX kicked in that extra gear in the 2nd half and got it done in the end.
