One of the biggest breakout senior prospects this past summer for a variety of reasons, Jordan Nwora came to a quick end with his recruitment after originally leaning towards a late commitment. A 6-foot-7 forward that can play all across the floor but is best off of the catch and shoot opportunity, the Buffalo native gave his verbal to Louisville today following his official visit to campus over the weekend.

Finding prospects that can consistently make shots has become more and more difficult to find. Hence, the value in Nwora gives great insight in explaining why over 30 high-major programs offered the New Yorker. After visiting Georgia Tech two weeks back and Rick Pitino’s program this past weekend, Louisville’s ability to compete against the best but also develop its very own was the primary sell in landing the Vermont Academy product.

A late bloomer of sorts that seems to take his game to the next level every three or four months, Nwora is just now tapping into how good he can be. While he can be used at either forward spot but isn’t an explosive athlete, he is smart, has a good feel for the game, and has improved his playmaking skills in recent months. However, where the 6-foot-7 senior really shines is off of the jumper where he can break open any given game with consecutive long-range attempts, pull-ups from the mid-range, or up-fake and straight line drive and finishes at the basket.

Running on the Nike EYBL circuit this past summer with the New Rens bunch, Nwora displayed his vast scoring prowess chipping in with nearly 15 points each time that he hit the floor. Finishing top-five in the entire circuit in 3-point jumpers made, Nwora didn’t lack for efficiency nailing close to 38-percent of his attempts. Toss in his ability to rebound his area on the glass and the top-125 recruit should be the ideal zone buster within Pitino’s offense that can help on the glass.

The third commitment in the 2017 class, Nwora blends in perfectly alongside five-star big man Malik Williams, a 6-foot-10 power forward that can play facing the basket but can still produce accordingly in the lane. Add in top-100 guard Darius Perry and the Cardinals have cemented their status as the best class out of the ACC with less than three weeks to go until the early signing period.
