Is Jonathan Baehre Georgia's biggest sleeper?

SPARTA, GA -- It is hard to miss Wilkinson County forward Jonathan Baehre. He’s the tall and slender kid that runs with the Warriors.

He’s a 6-foot-9 senior that plays at one of Georgia’s most storied basketball programs.

And no one knows anything about him on the recruiting front.

Meet Jonathan Baehre. The 6-foot-9, 200-pound senior from Wilkinson County, Georgia is the Peach State’s biggest mystery man.

Baehre moved to the United States for his senior season from Wiesbaden, Hessen, Germany as an exchange student. The excitement level was high when the season started but broken fingers sidelined Baehre for a good part of the season. But his ole with the Warriors is important and should log solid minutes here in the post-season.

Wilkinson County has the pieces to make another run for the Class A Public state championship. The Warriors, as usual, are deep and run a dozen players onto the hardwood to pressure the opposition. Baehre gives the team a unique piece to work with inside and out.

The University of Georgia is working to get Baehre on campus for a visit. Alabama, Florida State and Texas Rio Grande Valley have all inquired. Only Georgia has been in to see him play. Few know much about him.

Baehre is one of the more intriguing guys we've seen this season. And that comes off of 15 minutes of play, eight points, five rebounds and two blocks in a rough and tumble game.
